Boston-1914.
Boston grows rapidly in the post-civil-war years. A great fire erases buildings in a large chunk of the downtown area, which is re-built. Parks are added to the Charles bank, more areas are filled in, huge railroad depots are constructed, and many inventions are made in this 'city of firsts'. The intrigue of Boston Politics also is detailed in this print. At the beginning of the Twentieth Century, Boston is poised at a precipice of change, and war was looming. |
